What a great Spring Break! We had a blast and spent nine days on the Oregon Coast between Newport and Seaside. We rented the same house in Bella Beach that we did when we went there two years ago. The weather did not cooperate with us but that is to be expected.
We went to the tide pools, Yaquina Head Lighthouse, played on the beach, went swimming, saw a movie, at at some fantasic restaurants and went to Ripley's Believe it or Not in addition to spending the day in Seaside, Cannon Beach and Newport. There are so many things to do... we literally ran out of time!
It's amazing how many people from Spokane we saw in Bella Beach, Cannon Beach and the Tillamook Cheese Factory (don't go near there around 8 o'clock at night... apparently that is when the cows release a lot of methane gas... Elizabeth said it was the worst smell in the WHOLE world... I'm not sure that is true but it was pretty close).
Unfortunately we returned to find our Beta fish, Bubblegum, had passed away. Our neighbor felt horrible because he thought he had killed it but it was Bubblegum's time... she had been floating head down for a couple months now so the kids understood.
The weather in Spokane was gorgeous for our return so that helped the transition time. I think Spokane is about a month behind on Spring compared to the Oregon Coast where everything is green and blooming.
